Sophia embarked on her circus journey in 2016, discovering her passion at the age of 24 when she first picked up a fire staff. With six years of professional performance under her belt, Sophia has mastered a range of skills, including contact staff, rope dart, and battle axe. Her artistry is inspired by the zen warrior ethos and the movement principles of her ancestors, the Ancient Greeks and Minoans, focusing on strength, speed, resilience, grace, and endurance. As a full-time human biomechanics trainer, Sophia strives for excellence in her biomechanical movement, aiming to achieve a level of proficiency that allows her to perform and heal with precision. Her ultimate goal is to make a thriving career out of her performance arts. Currently, Sophia is pushing boundaries by training with a three-section staff and experimenting with spinning this prop on fire. She’s also expanding her repertoire by learning to balance on a walking globe and taking on the exciting challenge of the flying pole—a first in her aerial arts journey.
